THE RIGHT
CHOICE for What’s Next

My name is Joel Park and I’ve been proud to call this community home for over 25 years. My wife, Cindy and I believe in the power of giving back to community. When you invest in your community through your work, volunteerism, your values, and your everyday actions, you help build something stronger for everyone.

A Little More About Me

I bring a combination of practical experience, collaborative leadership, and a deep commitment to servicing our community. As a long-time I.T. specialist and a small business owner in Grande Prairie for over 25 years, I’ve helped to build future-ready businesses and contributed to the vitality and resilience of our local economy.

I am deeply committed to volunteerism and believe that the efforts we invest in building stronger communities is what makes those communities thrive. This commitment has been shaped through decades of involvement with Rotary and other local organizations.

With experience serving on numerous boards and committees, there's a deep appreciation for the importance of listening first and acting with integrity. Transparency, accountability, and strategic thinking are essential to effective leadership, and strong communication remains at its core.

Meeting the needs of today and tomorrow requires thinking beyond the status quo. It means creating new opportunities, exploring innovative solutions, and challenging conventional approaches to build something stronger and more resilient.

Building a Stronger Community Together

Real change happens when community members work together. Whether it’s through volunteering, sharing your ideas, or lending your voice to important conversations, your involvement makes a difference. Together, we can build safer neighborhoods, support local businesses, and create opportunities that strengthen the County of Grande Prairie for today and tomorrow.

Key Priorities

Safe Communities – Trusted public safety for all.
Residents are increasingly concerned about crime and community safety. Strengthening policing and preventative measures is a priority. A satellite police station needs to be built on the south side of the city as the City of Grande Prairie police jurisdiction ends at the city limits and service would need to come from north of Grande Prairie. This new satellite station can be co-located at the existing Fire Station on RR668 – Fire Station 17 already dispatched by 911 service.

Fiscal Discipline – Transparent, responsible spending
High taxes and spending decisions must be addressed with greater transparency and fiscal responsibility.

Innovative Solutions – Fresh ideas that work
Core infrastructure across our communities requires renewed attention and smart investment to support safety, livability, and long term growth.

Quality Health Care – Accessible care for every resident
Advocating for accessible, high-quality healthcare services across the County. Supporting local clinics, improving access to care, and working with provincial partners to address gaps in service are vital to ensuring residents can live healthier, more secure lives.

Economic Development – Growing local jobs and businesses
Supporting local businesses, attracting investment, and creating jobs are essential to improving affordability and financial stability for families.

Family & Community Living – Vibrant, thriving neighborhoods
There is strong public interest in enhancing amenities that support active living and community connection, such as walkable trails, parks, sidewalks, and recreational facilities like rinks and courts.

Community Leadership Team

Strong leadership is built on collaboration. Together with community members, volunteers, and local partners, we can share ideas, take meaningful action, and build a stronger, more resilient County of Grande Prairie.
